Exams are over!!! The last paper was quite good. I wanted to leave early, but just couldn't let go of a simple 2 mark question. I'm glad it was a simple paper, everyone around me was leaving early, I think it can get quite demoralizing.
Spent 5 hours cleaning my apartment yesterday. A mad rush just to be ready for the inspection in the morning. Reminded me of area cleaning back in army.

No GST cut but the Government will spend $600 million in skills upgrading and have $2.3 billion more in loans for businesses. What do you think?
A poll on the Channelnewsasia website, and 83% said that more could be done. Quite clearly a sign of dissatisfaction, and I think that it will continue to persist because that's just the way humans, and in particular, Singaporeans are. We think that the government is God, and that it should help in anything we deem is a problem. So if we think taxes are too high, then we want a cut. Even when the skills upgrade and loans for businesses will serve the same purpose.
So what should the government do? I say either cut taxes so that Singaporeans are happy, or educate the entire Singapore on economics 101 so that they understand the effect of the government procedures.
What's the benefit of studying economics if no one is going to understand you except those who study economics.

Why do people fight?
We normally try to figure out who is right and wrong, then we know who to blame. But that can't be the cause of a fight, because whoever is wrong has no right to make a stand in a fight. Anything he says is just delaying the inevitable.
The best I can think of why people fight is because of what they believe. They fight because both believe they are right. That's probably why sometimes people say there's no right or wrong, why people sometimes forget what they've been fighting about, because they forgot what they believed. A contradiction of beliefs if you will.
So if this is why people fight, then what is the solution? They always say someone has got to give. I think the more accurate saying is he will have to give.

What did I learn?
Forgiveness. It's hard to dish out, it's hard to receive. But I guess knowing it is half the battle won. In life, there are so many things we want to compare, relationships, attitudes, preferences. But they are all personal and whose to say what's right or wrong? There is no universal law for such things. Forgiveness might be easier for me to give, than it is for someone else, does that mean I judge him for his lack of ability to forgive quickly? May be he needs time. But then how much time can I give? Now we come to patience. The chain could go on.
Distortion. Apparently it is the result of selective perception. We hear what we want to hear, we retain what we want to retain. Then we act on our perception and claim we are right, but are we really? We can't possibly answer that question ourselves since we've already blocked out that which we refused to acknowledge.
But I guess that's what people are like. It is easier to be forgiven and forget, than to forgive and forget. Then, knowing this, can we use it in our defense for our inability to forgive, since we want to forgive, and we know that we should. Imagine if God said that to us. "Son, I know that I should forgive you, and I really want to, but after all that you've done I don't think I can, you understand right?"
Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

6 more days!!!! It's so slow... waiting for time to pass. I've been doing my tutes and I've developed a disliking toward my lecturer, because I know the theory, and I can explain everything in words, but I can't get the questions right because of the stupid math. And that should not be the reason I do not get my H1.
I hate algebra.

Average Joe, Lazy Susan, Uncle Sam. Where do these names come from? Was every Joe just average? How lazy had Susan have to be to be famous? Was every Uncle Sam a police officer? I'm Dan the man, and I didn't even come up with that. Apparently every Dan is the man.

Third paper down. I feel like a burden has been lifted off my back. I think the reason I feel so stressed about the paper is because I felt like I had to do well. But toward the last few minutes of the paper, I knew I had already done my best.
Well, now is the time to rest and relax. More MobTV.

Two down, two more to go. I've been complaining since I got my timetable that it was crappy, and that this was my worst exam timetable ever. Who likes to be the last to end right? I guess the silver lining, if you really want to see it, is that it's a test of your level of discipline and self-motivation.
OK, who am I kidding. This sucks!!! It's horrible!!! How can I end last!!! I wanted to travel around, have some fun before I fly back to Singapore. Take my time to pack, and clean the apartment, enjoy watching MOBTV.
Ah...MOBTV. The greatest thing since sliced bread. Who knew that Singapore drama serials could become so interesting.

True or
FalseYou've got to plan to become what you plan to become
Can't we just go with the flow and see where things turn up? Some times thinking everything through is so hard, and even after all that thinking, something totally different might happen.
But if you don't plan, how are you going to know where you're heading, what you're doing. You'll probably end up 5 years down the road thinking now what.

Dreaming......dreaming......dreamt.
The American Dream. The Australian Dream. The Singaporean Dream. All dreams of the great relaxing lifestyle that is almost unattainable, except for the few who have the wealth. Its a dream where work is minimal, and everything else is possible. They paint a great picture that leaves you craving for more. Then just when everything seems too perfect to be true, they snatch it away and bring out the bad guy, taxes, stress, the government. Suddenly life is this long draw battle of finances, and whoever masters it will achieve the dream. We get caught up in this whirlpool that never seems to end.
What strikes me as I think about these dreams is its lack of focus on religion. As if it is all possible without God. But who wants religion when it always talks about pain and suffering. We want wealth and health, life without taxes, stress, the government. Simply put, we want delusions. And what are delusions but dreams?
What are you dreaming about?
